Planetary ball mill is an essential device for mixing, fine grinding, small sample preparation, new product development and small batch production of high-tech materials. It is widely used in geology, mining, metallurgy, electronics, building materials, ceramics, chemicals, light industry, medicine, environmental protection and other departments.
The difference between laboratory planetary ball mill and vibration mill:
1. Different discharge fineness
Discharge fineness is an important indicator for testing grinding instruments. Planetary ball mills are mainly based on impact force, supplemented by extrusion force and friction force, which can grind samples finely and can grind samples to micrometer level or even hundreds of nanometer level. Vibration mills are almost all impact force, which cannot achieve fine grinding. The discharge fineness is generally at the millimeter level.
2. Different noise level
The cylinder of the vibration mill is connected to the vibrator, and there are steel balls or steel rods inside that continuously impact the material, generating a lot of noise. The grinding balls in the planetary ball mill are of different sizes. At a certain speed, some of the balls will move along the tank wall, extruding and rubbing, while the other part will impact, generating less noise.
3. Different operating environment
Vibration mills will produce serious flying dust when grinding materials, which has a very bad impact on the health of operators. The materials of planetary ball mills are sealed in the ball mill jar during grinding. The jar mouth uses a sealing gasket and a one-way quick clamping device, and a flip-open box cover is set on the outside to avoid flying dust during grinding.
4. Different grinding sample quantities
Common vibration mills have single-barrel and double-barrel, which can make two samples at a time. The planetary ball mill machine is equipped with four jar seats, which can make four samples at the same time in one grinding, with a large throughput, saving experimental time and improving work efficiency.
