As one of the cores of the laboratory ball mill, the configuration of the grinding media is an important issue that we need to pay attention to, which is related to the efficiency and effect of sample grinding. There are various types of grinding media, including grinding balls, grinding blocks, grinding rods, etc. The grinding balls are commonly used. So how to determine the filling amount of grinding balls in the laboratory ball mill?
Grinding ball configuration principle of planetary ball mill
1. There are two aspects to pay attention to in the configuration of grinding balls. One is the assembly ratio of ball materials, and the other is the ratio of large balls to small balls.
2. For the ball material assembly ratio, we can fill one-third of the volume of the ball mill tank with samples, one-third with grinding balls, and use the other third as the grinding space, or control the mass ratio of the grinding ball to the sample between 0.9 and 1.1 under the condition of reserving the grinding space.
3. For the selection of the number of large and small grinding balls, we can follow the principle of "equal surface area of large and small balls". First calculate the surface area of grinding balls with different diameters, and then keep the total surface area of grinding balls of each diameter roughly equal, then you can calculate how many grinding balls of each diameter are needed.
The appearance of lab planetary ball mill machine has solved many grinding problems. It far exceeds the traditional ball mill in terms of grinding efficiency, grinding particle size, energy consumption reduction, and application range, which has become the first choice for ultrafine grinding of samples.
